Table stories Trine Kjær and Nicholas Kawamura

SET A SUMMER TABLE WITH TRINE KJÆR

The Indian Summer weather rages across Denmark at the moment, and for the stylist and creative, Trine Kjær, that means trying to enjoy all meals outside.

“I especially have a soft spot for breakfast outside”, Trine shares, as she prepares a beautiful late summer breakfast table in collaboration with Kay Bojesen.

The table is set in the garden of Trine’s home, located just north of Copenhagen, which she shares with her husband, DJ and radio host, Nicholas Kawamura and their three kids.

“I love the timeless tableware and cutlery” – Trine Kjær

For her summer breakfast tablescape, Trine has chosen her favourite Kay Bojesen plates, dishes, glasses and cutlery pieces from the iconic Grand Prix series, to be combined with a selection of her own unique and vintage tableware pieces.

The table setting reflects Trine’s playful style, where she uses colorful prints and unusual silhouettes together with the more clean and refined minimalistic pieces from Kay Bojesen, shaped by functionalist values and therefore easy to mix and supplement with other designs, for a personal touch.

DEEP STEEL PLATE

The captivating deep steel plate in polished steel offers great functionality for beautiful servings of breakfast, as well as smaller meals or starters. Trine has chosen to match it with Grand Prix cutlery in polished steel.

‘KAY’ PORCELAIN SERIES

Trine has used the elegant white KAY plates and the oblong porcelain WING dishes for her breakfast table, adding a classic touch of understated elegance. Combined with the mouth blown drinking glasses, organic in shape.

ICONIC GRAND PRIX CUTLERY
